Today's quote

Stumbled across this old favorite while (whilst?) looking for something else.

"Perhaps the most valuable result of all education is the ability to make yourself to do the thing you have to do when it ought to be done whether you like it or not. It is the first lesson that ought to be learned and however early a person's training begins, it is probably the last lesson a person learns thoroughly."

Thomas Huxley

That's about twenty years of my life wasted, then... school, uni... Good advice, Ann. I think schools teach with examination results in mind, rather than encouraging pupils to be independent thinkers and doers. And pupils are examined more and more frequently, which really doesn't help.
I like the sound of your zoo-dunnit!

I found you on the Curzon group site, where I blog on Thursdays - at least, that's when I ought to be posting . . .
